Question

What game should i actually start with as a complete beginner

ok so ive never really gambled online before but my mates keep talking about it and i wanna give it a crack. problem is i open these casino sites and theres like a million games and i have no clue where to even begin lol. dont wanna blow my money straight away on something i dont understand. whats the easiest game to learn that wont drain my account in 5 mins?

honestly when i started i went straight for slots and lost my deposit way too fast cos i had no idea about volatility n stuff. what actually worked for me was learning blackjack first. the basic strategy is easy enough to pick up and the house edge is way lower than most games so your money lasts longer while youre figuring things out. i play on Boomerang mostly and they had free play tables where i practiced before risking actual cash. would def recommend doing that before betting real money

yeah blackjack is a solid shout. same thing happened to me with pokies, gone in like ten mins haha. blackjack you can at least feel like youre making decisions instead of just spinning and praying. the free tables thing is gold too, practiced for ages before i put money down

idk about blackjack being beginner friendly tbh. theres all the splitting and doubling down rules and when to hit vs stand, felt like a lot to memorise when i tried. doesnt seem that simple to me

fair but you dont need to memorise everything day one. theres basic strategy charts you can literally have open next to you while you play. after a few sessions it just sticks. compare that to slots where theres literally nothing to learn, you just hope. blackjack feels harder at first but it actually gives you a chance

wait does using a strategy chart count as cheating or do they not care? bit worried about getting flagged for something

nah youre fine, its just basic probability not card counting. nobody cares if you use a chart online, the game runs on rng anyway so theres nothing to count. card counting is a whole different thing and doesnt even work on virtual tables

fwiw roulette is also pretty easy to grasp for newbies. european version specifically cos it only has one zero so the odds are slightly better. just bet red or black or odd even, basically a coin flip. wont teach you strategy but its dead simple to understand

started with slots cos everyone said they were beginner friendly and honestly regret it. burned through 150 in maybe 20 minutes and didnt even understand why. the way the bonus rounds and paylines work is way more confusing than people make out

that sucks mate but slots arent all bad, you just gotta pick low volatility ones and set your bet size super low. i play 20c spins on the simple 3 reel ones and a tenner lasts me ages. high volatility stuff is where people get wrecked. its more about choosing the right game than slots being inherently bad

for what its worth the house edge matters way more than people realise when youre new. blackjack with basic strategy sits around 0.5%, european roulette is about 2.7%, and a lot of pokies are 4% or higher. lower edge means slower losses so you get more playtime to learn. just something to keep in mind

baccarat is another one nobody mentions thats actually super easy for beginners. you literally just bet player or banker and the dealer does everything. no decisions to make, low house edge on banker bets. good option if blackjack feels like too much

can vouch for the blackjack route too. started the exact same way as op, overwhelmed by all the options. stuck with blackjack and free tables for a couple weeks and it made everything way less intimidating. didnt lose much while learning either which was the main thing for me. good advice up top
